Paper Angels and angel babies

Footprints cards made for the Mater Mothers
This week I had the privilege of helping to make another stack of cards ready to go to the hospital for the bereavement programme. This is a special programme close to my heart at the moment because a very good friend of mine recently lost her little baby girl too early. The team of Paper Angels (our Stampin' Up! group of demonstrators) create these cards for the midwives to hand-stamp the angel baby's footprints on as a treasured lasting memory. The name cards are for the ICU or SCU babies that are fighting hard for their lives. All the products used were bought from funds raised at our Christmas Card Workshops held annually in November, where we hold raffles for goodies donated by Stampin' Up! Australia.
If you would like to help make these cards let me know and I can give you an idea of what is involved and when we get together to make them, or if you would like information on joining our Christmas fund-raising events too.

repeating flowers

Thanks to Liz Collett for the inspiration behind these cards that I showed the ladies how to make in Monday night class this week. They are made using the Fun Flowers and other flower dies on the Big Shot, but are linked because of the way the DSP was folded to start with. Its a bit like making those linking people when we were kids, remember how we cut out the body but made sure that the arms were on a fold line? I loved this technique because its a great way to make a border or a focal point on a scrap book page too. If you'd like me to show you how its done, book a FREE workshop and I'll show you how :-)

Third Thursday Christmas card club

Happy Christmas!
How often have you said to yourself that you are going to make all your Christmas cards and have them ready before the postal deadline? If you're like me, then you struggle to get them all done in time and sometimes never make any at all, so this year I'm going to try and do something about it.
Come and join the Third Thursday Christmas card club!
Every third Thursday at 9.45 am starting on the 19th January come and make ten Christmas cards with me, five each of two designs. I will provide the list of materials you'll need to bring, e.g. card stock, brads etc. and I'll supply punches, inks, stamps, and so on. If you don't have certain items you can order them from me in advance, or substitute them for another item/colour etc.
Cost will be $5 per class as you will be mainly using your own supplies.
Please let me know if you would like to join me in making Christmas 2012 a little more special by sending those you love a hand-made Christmas card.
See you in 2012!

Happy new year! craft classes for 2012

Hello there, just a quick note to let you know that craft class will resume on Tuesday 24th January at 9.45 at my place, $10 as usual. After this date they will run as normal on the first and third Tuesday of the month. I am also starting the First Monday evening class also at my place, at 7.30. This will be for those of you who cannot make day times, but will generally be the same project as the first Tuesday class.
I am currently working on a Christmas mini scrap album, hopefully I will be ready to run this class for you in January too, so we can scrap our favourite Christmas photos before we forget about them altogether! It will use scraps of the Letters to Santa DSP and matching card stock, so let me know if you need to buy any more before the time comes.
There will also be an opportunity to make Christmas cards throughout the year so there isn't that mad effort in December to get them done. I'm thinking probably one or two simple designs each month, maybe five of each card. I will provide a list of items needed and then you can bring your own supplies and/or buy extras through me. Just think, you'll have up to 100 cards to send next Christmas!
Thanks for checking out my blog, my resolution is to keep my blog up to date this year!

New hostess benefits programme

I’m really excited to share with you, Stampin’ Up!s NEW ‘hostess’ benefits. What many people don’t realise is, that if you place a customer order over $300, you will be eligible for these very same benefits. Likewise, when as a demonstrator, I place a $300 order, I also receive the benefits. Sounds very fair doesn’t it BUT WAIT, it gets even better! Stampin’ Up! have recognised that people want more choice, and as such, they have INCREASED the amount of dollars you have to spend when placing a $300+ order/workshop. Full details are in the table below, but as an example, if you place a $300 order, you receive your choice of $50 of product from anywhere in the catalogue! You can choose discounted hostess product featured on pages 8-12 of the NEW Idea Book & Catalogue and/or from the main body of the catalogue.

My favourite way of Sharing Stampin’ Up! is to conduct a FREE workshop for you, because that way I can share ideas and inspiration on how to use the product that you buy! I am not interested in selling product that you do not use – I hope that I can inspire you to enjoy and use your products creatively in a social atmosphere.

Having said that, I do know that some of my customers are unable to host or attend workshops, and in that case, I welcome orders outside of workshops and will do my best to support your purchases with creative ideas on my blog and galleries. I want you to know that if you order $300 of product, you too will receive the ‘hostess benefits’.

Please don't hesitate to contact me about the above, I would love to hear from you!
