Christmas ornament decoration class

Today I had a great time with some lovely ladies making the Christmas ornament from the cover of the mini catalogue. I really had no idea how long the class would take so we arranged to make a day of it and had morning tea and lunch as well. Then the unexpected happened and my order for all the products didn't arrive in time, I was devastated as I had planned this for ages and everyone had been able to come on the same day; the thought of re-arranging it didn't thrill me. Fortunately I have a lovely upline, and she lent me her 'Ornament Keepsakes Bundle', along with some tulle ribbon. A couple of the guests also had the set from a previous order, and so thankfully we were able to muddle through the day - I couldn't have done it without you girls!
As it turned out it really only took a couple of hours, but it was kind of essential that we had a few Big Shot machines, and more than one 'Holiday Ornaments' Framelits set.
Thanks for an excellent day everyone, and I know you'll enjoy making some more of these delightful decorations when our order finally arrives! (Just to clarify, it is the delivery contractor who has delayed us getting the order, not Stampin' Up!)

a few new things

Here are a few new things I've made recently; the Thanks a million card was a project for my craft group, where we made the card and the chocolate pull treat as a matching gift. I love the French Foliage stamp set, at $31.95 for the clear mount version it is really good value, and so beautiful in autumnal colours. I used Cajun Craze, Perfect Plum and Natural ivory card stock, and also used the Woodgrain background stamp to set the leaves off nicely.
The next card was for my friend Teresa's birthday, and I did a 'rock and roll' technique on the flower from the Summer Solstice stamp set. The Little Leaves die for the Big Shot added some delicate foliage, while the ribbon and button step up the card a little. Although a simple design, it is still effective and shows how pretty a monotone card can be.
Finally a card that I cased from my Paper Angels meeting recently, I love the way the 11/4" striped grosgrain ribbon can be frayed and tied around itself to create a faux feather look. The image comes from the Clearly for You stamp set, and the French Filigree background stamp was versamarked and clear embossed. The Framelits Labels collection is a must have item for the Big Shot at the moment, with 6 different sizes of labels you can create a layered effect or make frames for your photos etc., and at only $49.95 it is a real steal. Available from the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue until the end of July.

Stocking Builder Punch

This taken from the Stampin' Up! web site:
"...we have decided not to carry over the Stocking Builder Punch (item 124095) from the 2011-2012 Summer Mini Catalogue into the next Idea Book & Catalogue. Instead we will offer other great designs in its place...
"Once the current inventory of this punch has been depleted, it will no longer be available for purchase. We hope many Stampin' Up! stockings will adorn cards and brighten holiday projects this season and look forward to seeing what you create with the next seasonal design."
So if you would like to get this great, versatile punch, please order it before the end of March, although please check first for availability.
Thanks to Dee at the Paper Art Studio for this fabulous card.

Love those new Autumn mini cat. products!

Here are some of the projects I have been working on using some of the new products from the Autumn mini cat. Hope you like them.

The first one uses the Vintage Vogue stamp set, in So Saffron, Old Olive and Baja Breeze inks, this photo was taken of Mike at his fiftieth birthday party two years ago.

The two Rich Razzleberry cards were inspired by Alisa Tilsner, you can see her originals here

A few cards made while I was on a roll! The two on the right are cased from the mini catalogue, while the one on the left seemed to fall together nicely while I was playing with the new Country Wall DSP.

I made these little gift tents for Tegan and Olivia's school teachers, they are filled with chocolates of course! The Happy Easter words come from the Greetings Eight stamp set

The last page also uses Vintage Vogue, as well as the new Extra-large two-step bird punch, which I have stamped and then punched. It also uses the Friendly Words wheel and the new Cottage Wall DSP. Don't you just love the new In-Colour Rich Razzleberry!

Autumn Winter mini catalogue launch

[AUNZ_AutumnWinter2010+page+1.jpg]
This is the event you have been waiting for. In fact I am so excited about the new products in the upcoming Autumn Winter Catalogue, I can't wait to share them with you. In the true spirit of Stampin' Up!, the best way to share these new products and techniques is to invite you to use them. I know you will love the 2 make & take cards we have planned, where you will use the new Stampin' Up! Big Shot with dies & embossing folders, a new punch style as well as the Clear Mount Stamp Option. Probably the biggest news we have is the introduction of 3 new exclusive colours and you will get to use my favourite new colour in one of the Make & Takes.

There are 2 dates and venues to choose from, however I will only be attending the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club event, and I would love to see you there.

Sunday 28th March 2-5pm
Wynnum Manly Leagues Club
92 Wondall Rd, Manly West

Wednesday 31st March 6-9pm
Pendirup Community Centre
365 Samsonvale Rd, Warner

The $10 entry fee for the launch includes a Mini Catalogue, 2 Deluxe Make & Takes, Fantastic Demonstrations, Door Prize Entry and Displays of Papercraft & New Product. RSVP is absolutely essential as we have a lot of preparation and ordering to do and payment would be appreciated either by cash, or by direct deposit into my bank account, which I will give details of when you e-mail me on flickandmick@aapt.net.au

It's not long now until the first mini catalogue of the year is available, there are some beautiful new stamp sets and DS papers, not to mention a new paper punch and corduroy buttons!
